Reading!!

We have read to Lana since she was very young and she has always loved it. Whether it is us reading her stories or now reading on her own she loves books! Here she is reading with Daddy!!

And here she is reading out loud! She does this all the time and it is so cute, I finally got it on video. She turns the pages of books and talks out loud as if she is actually reading!

Balloons and Our Big Girl!

Our silly girl!! Lana loves going to eat at Red Robin because she always gets a balloon, she loves playing with balloons! Here are a couple of cute pictures of her!

As you know Lana turnd 15 months last week, she had her 15 month check up today. Lana weighs 22 lbs 4 oz, and she is 32 1/2 inches tall. That puts her in the 90th percentile in height and the 40th in weight, which makes her very tall, and pretty thin. She is also doing everything she should be for 15 months old, and a little more, the Dr. was very pleased with our little girl, especially when he handed her a sticker and she said "thank you"!!!

Day at the Pool

Although it isn't very nice today, Memorial Day, it was very nice on saturday, so we got to go the pool. Mike and Manda came with us. I think Lana had more fun walking around the pool, than actually in the pool, but that is ok, she had fun... and everyone ended up getting sunburned except for Lana, thank goodness!! Apparently me being obsessive with the sunscreen, even putting it on her head since she won't keep her hat on, paid off!

Silly Girl

15 Months Old!!!

Lana is 15 months old today! It is hard to believe she is getting so big. Lana has been walking for several months now. She took her first steps at about 11 1/2 months, but didn't start walking all the time until about 12 1/2 months. She is talking all the time now, whether it is real words or her own made up language she is always jabbering. She is saying more and more real words everyday, recently she has learned duck, bath, and nap! Although her favorite words are still doggie, and baby, and she always says thank you, or "dank dou." She always holds books and makes sounds like she is actually reading out loud, it is so cute!!
Here is Lana right after her bath. She still LOVES taking baths and playing in the water. This is her princess towel from Grandma and Grandpa Davis, so cute!!
I love taking sleeping pictures because she ends up in the funniest positions! She still loves the blanket over her face, which still worries Mommy a little. I pull it off everytime I catch her like that!

Lana absolutely loves baby dolls! She often carries one around with her where ever she goes, I love it!

What Was Mommy Thinking???

So, on Sunday our church gave each Mom a plant for Mother's Day. We do have a patio, but I haven't had good luck with plants, last year I had quite a few and the squirrels killed all of them.. So I have been keeping a close eye on this plant I got at Church. This morning I noticed that squirrels had started digging in the pot so I brought it inside.... this is where the "What was mommy thinking?" comes in. Well, I wasn't. A lot of times I will leave Lana in the living room to play for a while, while I do housework... I check on her quite often, she usually doesn't get into trouble. I completely take blame for this, it was my fault, but yes my one year old ate dirt today, and had a lot of fun playing in it. The funnier thing, is that she literally JUST had a bath, I don't normally give her baths in the middle of the day, but she made a HUGE mess at lunch, so I decided to throw her in the tub. Luckily, I hadn't even drained the tub yet, so I just threw her back in!! :)

Day at the Park

Now that Josh is done with classes for the summer he has a lot more free time to spend with Lana and I. Today we went to the park, and we had a really good time. Lana wasn't too fond of the slides and swings, but she loved climbing on the playgroung and going for a walk, it was a great day to spend at the park!

One of the few things I like about Kentucky is how green it is here!
