A Few Recent Pic's. . .

We are very sad that summer is coming to an end, but also very excited for fall!! Here are a few recent pic's of our growing girl!

Blowing bubbles. . . Cute girl. . . Fun in the water. . . Smile. . . One day I found her like this, I love that it actually looks like she has a hand of cards. What game? I am not sure. . .

We have such a silly girl. . .I have no idea what she was doing in this above pic, making a silly face!! But as you can see in this picture, Lana now has 16 teeth, so we are done teething for a while....not that it has been terrible, but there have been moments, we are glad to be done with that for a while....Lana loves shoes. Grandma Davis bought her these dress up shoes last time we visited CO. I thought we would save them until Lana got a little older, but she loves them now, and actually walks very well in them. . .

A Funny Story. . .

Lana is at that stage where she repeats a lot of words that she hears. Everyone knows that stage. Well lately in our home we have had a problem with mice. I know, it is disgusting, we cannot get rid of them, we have only lived here for about a month, and are convinced they have been here that entire time. Anyway, Josh and I had a minor miscommunication about the mice. Last night I had asked him if he could clean up the mouse droppings under the sink, I was going to do it, but got scared of the mice, they are so gross. So today I looked under the sink to find mouse droppings everywhere, since I was sure Josh had cleaned them up the night before I was sure there were more mice. I called him to ask him and Lana was sitting in her high chair eating lunch. Apparently he misunderstood and thought I had asked him to get rid of the mouse trap. I know I didn't say that, because why would I? I want the trap to be there, I do not want mouse droppings to be there. So I told him maybe I thought you said "crap," not "trap" and of course we hear the sweet little voice of our daughter say "crap?" "crap?" in question form....yes our daughter learned a new word today....that hopefully she won't remember tomorrow.... we don't use that word in our house so I should have known better than to say it infront of her... We don't say any "bad" words in our house, but now that we have a daughter that repeats everything she hears we have learned that we really need to watch what we say.

A New Toy~

We wanted to eventually buy Lana a play kitchen, she already loves playing with dishes and pretending, as well as she loves helping me around the house. Here is Lana's new toy, the best thing about this one is that is was FREE!!! Some of our friends asked us if we wanted it for Lana, Josh wasn't sure because he didn't think we had room, but I told him "you can't say no to free" although they also had a play house we weren't able to take because we definitely do not have room for that, bummer!! But I am sure Lana will enjoy her new kitchen :)

18 Months Old

Lana turned 18 months old this last week and I wanted to have her picture taken. Well she is going through a very weird stage, where she is very clingy to mom unless we are around people she knows. So I took her in to get her picture taken, and when I sat her down, she just cried and reached for me...she would not have her picture taken, so I decided not to spend money on a crying picture. I thought I would just go home and try to have our own photo shoot outside since she was already in her dress. Well, below is how the "photo shoot" turned out, you pick which one you think we should keep as Lana's 18 month old Pic, I think this first one is my favorite. . .haha!!!! (By the way, this is the very cute dress Lana wore as a flower girl in my sisters wedding I have been wanting to have her picture taken in it because it is SO cute!)

This one I actually love for a keepsake, but I would also love one of her smiling face. . .Kind of smiling as she runs away from me. . . This one I also love, but terrible lighting and no smile. . .There is our cute girl, but doesn't actually look like a posed photo!!!

Summer Fun

Our summer is officially over because Josh starts classes tomorrow. He has a little more free time in the summer since he doesn't have school. He is still super busy working 40 hours a week at starbucks and also working at the church 20+ hours, and teaching 4 times a week, but when school starts we see less and less of him. It has been nice to have him around more. Lana is doing great, she will be 18 months this week! I cannot believe our little baby is getting so big. The summer flew by, and we did so many fun things!! We just love summer! Here are a few recent pic's of the Oedy family!!

Josh and I at King's Island (An amusment park in Cincinnati) We were able to get away for an entire day date at King's Island while some friends of ours watched Lana. She did great being away from us all day, in fact our friends said she didn't fuss or cry once.

I love crazy rides, and rollar coasters. This was one of my favorites above, Vortex. It really was bigger than it looks. Our little water baby!! We have a nice new pool, and Lana loves it! The nice big steps make a great place for her to play. Playing in the water! Eating at Cici's pizza! Lana loves pizza, she doesn't get it very often, so it is really a treat when she does!Our family out for Josh's birthday! Josh chose Chinese! There is a cute new restaurant right down the street from where we live, very convienient!

Chatter Box

We were riding in the car the other day and Lana was just chattering so much as she often does, I pulled out the camera and got a couple videos. I thought it was cute!! Lana has SO many words now, I cannot even count, and she even has a few sentences. Two words she learned in the last week are please, and yes, two words that I am very happy about!! Also, we were reading a book about animal sounds, and now she loves going around saying "Duck says Quack" over and over again. Silly girl!!!!

She Loves Me

As most of you know I babysit during the week. It is a great job because I am able to keep Lana with me and still work. Yesterday Josh had the day off so he said he could keep Lana at home with him. He is usually so busy this is a very rare thing, especially once school starts he will never have a day off. So this morning I started getting ready to leave, gathering my things, putting on my shoes, and Lana came over to the door and started pointing to her feet and saying "shoes, shoes" (telling me that she needed her shoes on.) So I picked her up and gave her a big hug and kiss and said goodbye, at this point she realized she wasn't going with me and she just started crying and screaming as I walked out the door without her. Now don't get me wrong, she adores her Daddy and loves him very much. Everyday when he gets home from work, when she hears the door open she excitedly says "Daddy" and she will climb up on his lap and cuddle or have him read her a book, she is always very happy to see him. But I have to admit it made me a little happy to know that she likes her Mom and gets sad when I leave without her. The cutest thing was that she knew she needed her shoes on, she thought I was forgetting :)
