Just an update on our family. On Sunday the 14th the after math from Hurricane Ike passed through Louisville. It was actually a crazy storm, with over 100 mph winds. We surrvived the storm but most of the city was left with out power, there were trees, and power lines down everywhere. We thought it would be a few hours, then we thought maybe a day, Monday the City was absolutly crazy. The Starbucks that Josh works at still had power, so he went to work on monday morning but still 400,000 people were without power. Since monday morning we woke up without power, I had the great idea to go to starbucks to get Lana milk, me coffee, and plug in my cell phone because it was almost dead. Little did I know that everyone else had the same idea, I should have known. I pulled up and there was a line out the door. Poor Josh has been SO busy working all week, and will have worked over 50 hours by the end of this week. (Just at Starbucks, he also works at our Church.) Anyway, on monday morning we found out that since most of the city was without power it was going to take 10 to 14 days to restore power. Yes, when I heard that my jaw dropped. I had called my Mom earlier that morning to tell her we had been without power for 24 hours, so then I called her back to tell her it would now be 10 to 14 days. I know it isn't the end of the world, and a lot of people have it a lot worse, but especially with a one year child, you cannot do anything at home without power. We lost everything in our fridge, most everything in our freezer, you cannot cook, do laundry, there are no lights, no A/C, AND where we live everything is ran off of electricity, nothing is gas, so we don't even have hot water. Anyway, my parents flew Lana and I back to CO, and we are very thankful and happy to be here. It is always nice to be able to spend time with family we don't get to see very often... SO that being said, I probably won't be posting for a while, but I am sure I will have plenty of stories and pictures to post when Lana and I get home!! Hope everyone is doing well!

Yesterday was the beginning of the NFL season, and as I am sure everyone in Colorado knows, tonight is the first night of Monday night football, and the Broncos play the Raiders!! We are so excited, or should I say, Josh is so excited, and Lana and I are being supportive!! Here is Daddy's little girl in her Bronco's Cheerleader Outfit. Makes her Daddy so proud!! It is a little too big, that is in hopes that it will fit her for a while!! GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Family Fun Night!!

Friday night was Family Fun Night. Every year the Seminary has a Fall Kick-Off Festival, or Family Fun Night! There is a really nice dinner, and all kinds of fun stuff for the kids. Last year Lana was too young to really enjoy it, so this year she could actually do some of the stuff... we had a really good time even though the weather wasn't great. It rained most of the day on friday, but by friday night was just kind of misting.

We met our friends, the Glupkers there. Here are Lana and Owen going on a little ride. There is kind of a smile, but apparently I should have had the camera in "action" mode.... There was a pretty good turn out, especially considering the weather!!

Clean Up!!

Lana is such a good helper she is always wanting to help me around the house. She is also starting to get good at cleaning up her own toys. You all know the "clean up" song that everyone sings...well I always sing it as we are picking up her toys, and now she sings it too, kind of, it is too cute!!! The Louisville Zoo!!!!

We finally went to the Zoo, we have been wanting to take Lana all summer and finally did. Lana had such a good time. She really liked the animals, she would point and say "Doggie" but then after I would say what the animal actually was, she would repeat the real name, it was so cute. She was really into it. They also have a splash park at the Louisville Zoo and Lana loved that.... Also, I want to point out that Lana and I don't purposely leave Josh out of all of the family fun. I would have loved to go to the Zoo as a family day, but Josh is very very busy, and also when I mentioned it earlier in the summer, he said it was way too hot and humid in KY to be outside, he is kind of a party pooper like that. He also does not like to go to the pool, which is why you never see him at the pool with us..

Ready to go to the Zoo, purse and all. Let me point out that Lana got her purse herself, and was also saying "Zoo" all the way there...... Watching the trains, still has her purse :) I just think she looks like such a big girl!!

Out with a Splash~

We spent our Labor Day weekend by the pool. . .one of our favorite places as I am sure you all know by now. Josh of course, was very busy this weekend, working, teaching, and studying, he didn't really get a long weekend. But we all were able to go out to dinner with friends on Friday night, and Lana and I were able to go to the pool with our friend Manda on Saturday and Monday, it was a good weekend!!
