28 Weeks

Tomorrow I will be 28 weeks pregnant. I thought I would post today since we are moving tomorrow, I am not sure if we will have internet and things will just be a little crazy. Tomorrow marks the first week of the third trimester. I cannot believe I am almost into my third trimester already, this pregnancy seems to be flying by. Probably because I already have a 2 year to chase around :) I go to the Dr on thursday for my 28 week check up as well as my Glucose test and my RhoGAM shot since I am Rh-negative. I am still feeling great and Baby boy is very active, we love feeling him move and can't wait to meet him in 3 months!!

Baby Brother?

Today Lana was talking about her baby brother. At 26 months old she definitely knows that she is getting a baby brother and loves to talk about him, she just doesn't understand when or how he is coming. Especially now that my belly is getting bigger we are trying to explain that the baby is in my tummy. So when she was talking about her baby brother, out of curiosity I thought I would ask Lana where her baby brother was. She lifted up HER shirt, and said "in my tummy" with a huge smile! So apparently she thinks everyone has a baby in their tummy. Oh well, I am sure it will get more and more real in a few months as she gets older and older. She seems to learn and understand more things everyday!!

Singing Songs

This video is from a couple days ago. Here is Lana singing. . .well, kind of. . .of course she was standing in front of me perfectly singing all of her favorite songs, until I pulled out the camera and tried to get get it on tape, she gets a little distracted. Still makes for a cute video so I thought I would share it for our families to see our little girl :) As always please ignore my voice, especially singing-I have been struggling with this cold or something for too long now, so I am still completely stuffed up, so I sound ridiculous :)

25 Weeks

25 1/2 weeks and I have completely popped out! It seriously happened over night, all the sudden none of my clothes fit, but I am starting to get used to the idea of having a baby belly again and getting into maternity clothes!

Easter

Happy Easter!! We had a good Easter this year, started by a nice service at Church, I sang in the Easter Choir this year and really enjoyed it! We had lunch as a family at Cracker Barrel, then in the evening some friends invited us and some other families over for dinner, and we had a good time, as well as Lana really enjoyed getting to play with all of the other kids!! Busy Weekend

This is an update or tag on from the previous post. We have now been pacifier free for 4 days, Lana is doing so great. Seriously, I have been dreading this for months, and I had no idea it would be so painless, I think maybe I was holding onto it more than her :) She has been sleeping at night and naptime just fine, and has only mentioned her paci a few times and when she does she is always saying "bye bye paci"

This weekend I went to the Women of Joy Conference with some of the ladies from our church. It was really good, we had such a great time, and even got to see Casting Crowns in Concert last night. It was a very good concert. Lana and Josh got to spend a Daddy/Daughter weekend, and they had a really good time too. At first I felt bad that we are in the middle of potty training and taking away the pacifier the weekend that Josh had Lana by himself, but he and she did great with it.

Lana also got to start going to the preschool class at church on sundays, they have sunday school and childrens church for 2 to 4 year olds. Lana LOVED it!!! She talked about it all the way to lunch, we seriously had a conversation all the way to lunch, she told me everything that her and Daddy did over the weekend, and she told me everything she did in the preschool class. She is getting so good with sentences, for example, when telling me what they did in class, she said "we sang Jesus Loves Me" so often the words she knows surprise me. One of her favorite sayings lately is "I did it" whenever she puts on her shoes, builds a tower with Legos, etc, etc, she happily says " I did it" She gets so proud of herself, I love it!!!

Casting Crowns

Big Steps

Lana Grace is getting so big, I can't even believe it. She has definitely been taking some big steps lately. We have been working on potty training and Lana is doing so well. She has been in big girl underwear at home now for 2 weeks and hasn't had an accident yet, she does such a good job of going on the potty :) Mom has been more hesitant to go diaper free in public, we have tried it a few times and she has done very well. Although we tried it at story time yesterday, and I was afraid she might get distracted and forget. She had one minor accident, but as soon as she started going she stopped, and finished when we got to the bathroom. (Too much information?)

Yesterday we decided to take a big step that is long over due and take away her pacifier. Lana loves her pacifier SO much. Since about 9 months old she has only been allowed to have it during naptime and night time, but still, it is time. We read a book about how big kids don't use pacifiers, they are for babies. Then we went around the house and gathered all the pacifiers we could find, Lana did this of course, then put them in a plastic bag, and said "bye bye paci" When she got a little sad, I said " you are a big girl right?" and said she "yeah" "Then we need to get rid of all your paci's" and she said "ok" I was worried that at night time she wouldn't be as happy to say good bye. It was hard for me as we walked in her room to put her to bed and she was looking around, and said "where'd paci go?" I explained once again that she didn't need them anymore because she was a big girl. After just a few minutes of little sobs, she went to sleep just fine. She slept through the night just like always, and didn't even mention it when she woke up. I am just hoping naptime goes as well.

Last, our church has a kids program on wednesday nights called Team Kids. Lana is old enough that she can be in team kids now, and she loves it so much. She loves getting to be with the big kids, and play games, do crafts, and sing with them. Her first night they said she did really well, and she did not stop talking about it all the way home. (we have a 45 minute drive) They have a time where they sing songs, they said that Lana was singing, they didn't know what she was singing but she was singing so happily. I wish I could have seen her, we do often sing at home, and even when she doesn't know all the words she can keep the tune and she makes up her own words, I love it.
