Fun on the Farm

My sweet kids could not wait to go to the Pumpkin patch, both of the older two have been talking about it all month. The first time we planned to go, Lana woke up sick that morning, so a week later I decided to take the kids by myself. Unfortunatly we went on a week day and were told that only school field trips could go out into the Pumpkin Patch, (there were about 20 school busses there.) The kids were so sad. Then on the 31st Lana's class was supposed to go to the Pumpkin Patch for their fall party, and it was raining, so it got canceled. :( We just weren't meant to go this year, but the day I went with the kids we were able to have a little bit of fun even though we couldn't ride the wagon out into the field.

We went to Kroger and I let the kids each pick out a pumpkin (not as fun but easier for me anyway:) ) and then on the way home we picked up ice cream at McDonalds, a real treat, and they loved it!

Carving Pumpkins

Every year we carve pumpkins with the kids, it is a fun tradition and Lana loves it! Nathan was able to help out a little more this year. Lana was also my big girl helper, she not only cleaned all of her seeds/etc out of her pumpkin, but she also washed all of the seeds for me. It was great because I love roasting them and eating them, but I am not a huge fan of cleaning them. Lana loves helping out! Cleaning out her pumpkin Nathan cleaning out his pumpkin I had the kids tell me what they wanted their pumkin to look like, and then I carved it. I am not the best carver. . .but here is Lana's finished pumpkin and Nathan's Our Porch before we carved. . .

and after! I just love having a Porch! Also the kids spent last Saturday with our friends the Burkheads, so that I could spend the weekend with our Youth, and teach at Disciple Now. The kids painted pumpkins at the Burkheads, and their painted pumpkins are are the end of each side!

Nathan 2 years old- Spider Man. He only knows this charactor through books, coloring books, and seeing him in stores, balloons, etc. But when I asked him what he wanted to be this year he really wanted to be "Spider Man" so sweet! Although he didn't like wearing the mask the whole time! :)

Lana Grace 4 1/2 years old-Cinderella. Lana loves the Disney Princesses. The day after Halloween 2010 Lana told me she wanted to be Cinderella the next year, and sure enough, she never changed her mind all year. She made a great Cinderella We went to "Trunk or Treat" at our Church and the kids had a great time

We also did some trick or treating in the Neighbor hood with some friends. I love the picture below. Doesn't look very safe, but it is a side road, that people rarely drive on :)

There were also Fire Trucks at the Church. Nathan got to climb on and see the fire trucks. He loves trucks
